About us
About us: who is behind tensioncurtainrod.com
tensioncurtainrod.com is an independent guide to tension rods for windows, showers and closets. We bring together what rod makers actually publish, explain it in plain English and say clearly where the usual advice online is wrong.
Who we are
This site is written by the editorial team at tensioncurtainrod.com. We are not a rod maker, not a store and not a lab. Our goal is buying advice for a small product that causes a surprising amount of trouble: rods that do not fit, rods that sag, rods that drop the shower curtain into the tub. The person responsible for the content is named in the imprint.
Why this site exists
Anyone searching for a tension curtain rod mostly finds store category pages, product listings and forum threads. The few answers that look like advice often repeat figures that no manufacturer has published: a “standard” load capacity, a rule about tube thickness and grip, rust promises without their small print.
That is why you will find here:
- one clear pick for each job wherever maker data allows it – and an honest note where it does not,
- the figures makers really state, with source and date, and a clear note where they state nothing,
- explainers on measuring, load and slipping rods, because most problems start before the rod is bought.
How we work
- Sources: We read manufacturer pages, warranty wording, instruction sheets and retailer spec tables. Publisher reports count only when they describe their method. The sources are listed at the end of each page.
- No lab tests: We have not installed or loaded the rods ourselves. That is why we talk about a “comparison” and a “pick”, never a “test”. The details are in how we research.
- Seller data only: Many rods are sold with nothing but an Amazon listing. We label them as such, and they never become a pick.
- No invented experiences: You will not find personal stories here. The hanging tips summarize what makers and instructions recommend.
- Up to date: Every page shows when it was last reviewed. Listings change often, so we recheck product data regularly.
What we are not
We do not replace professional advice. A tension rod is not meant for a load that could hurt someone if it falls, and we do not promise that any rod holds a given weight. Where safety is concerned, we stick to what the maker states and point you to the instructions.
How the site is funded
The site is free and carries no banner ads. It is funded through affiliate links to Amazon. If you buy through them, we receive a small commission – you do not pay more. No manufacturer pays for a pick. The details are in the affiliate disclosure.

Tension rods for windows, showers and closets
We are the editorial team at tensioncurtainrod.com. We compare what rod makers actually publish – width ranges, mechanisms, materials, warranty wording and the rare load rating – with what listings and AI answers claim, and we say where the two disagree. We do not run lab tests, and we say so openly.
- Manufacturer pages & warranty wording read
- Seller-only data labeled
- No lab tests – stated openly
